The small print
Plain English, so everyone knows where they stand. Last updated 23 October 2026.
1. Terms of use
We are a marketplace
- We are not a removal or transport company. Drivers are independent businesses. When a customer accepts a bid, the contract to move the goods is between the customer and the driver.
- We check drivers' documents before they can bid, but we do not supervise each job.
- By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Accounts
- You must be 18 or over and give true, up-to-date details.
- One person or business per account. Keep your login safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
Posting a job
- Posting a job is free. Describe it honestly: what it is, sizes, weight, photos, addresses, access (stairs, parking, lifts) and the date.
- You set a starting price. We show a fair price guide. If your price is below the guide, a driver may make one opening offer above it. You never have to accept.
- If the job turns out bigger or harder than described, the driver can change the price or refuse the job on the day, and the deposit is not refunded.
- Nothing on the can't-move list may be posted (see below). You must tick to confirm this before posting.
How bidding works
- Bidding stays open for the time you choose: 3 hours (urgent), 24, 48 or 72 hours.
- Every bid must be at least £5 lower than the current lowest bid, apart from one opening offer when the starting price is below our guide.
- A bid in the last 5 minutes puts the clock back to 5 minutes.
- When bidding closes, the customer can accept the lowest bid or decline. A customer can also accept any bid early.
- A driver's bid is a firm offer. If it is accepted, the driver must do the job for that price.
What we can't move
Gas bottles and cylinders; petrol, diesel and fuel cans; fireworks and explosives; asbestos; chemicals, paint thinners and acids; clinical or medical waste; weapons and ammunition; drugs or anything illegal; stolen goods; live animals; people. We may remove any job that breaks these rules.
Staying on the platform
- Contact details stay hidden until a booking is paid. Swapping numbers, emails or links to dodge the fee earns a strike. Three strikes and the account is suspended.
- Be polite. Abuse, discrimination, fraud or fake bids mean removal.
Liability
- Goods are covered by the driver's own goods-in-transit and public liability insurance, not by Pink Pumpkin. For valuable items, check the driver's insurance limit before you accept.
- Claims for loss or damage are made against the driver. We'll help by sharing the booking details we hold.
- We are not responsible for delays, loss or damage caused by drivers or customers, except where the law says we must be. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Changes and law
- We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and the version on the site when you book applies to that booking.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
2. Fees and payments
- Customers pay a booking deposit by card when they accept a bid. This deposit is Pink Pumpkin's fee. It is part of the accepted price, not an extra.
- The deposit depends on the winning driver's plan: 10% for Starter, 7% for Pro, 5% for Fleet. Minimum £2.
- The rest of the price is paid by the customer straight to the driver, as agreed between them (for example on the day of the job). Pink Pumpkin never holds job money.
- Example: a £100 job won by a Starter driver. The customer pays a £10 deposit by card to book and pays the driver £90.
- Card payments (debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay) are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Driver plans: Starter is free (15 bids a month). Pro is £19 a month (unlimited bids, Pro badge). Fleet is £49 a month (priority support). Plans renew monthly until cancelled, and you can cancel any time before the next renewal. Launch offer: the first 100 sign-ups get free membership.
- Prices are in pounds sterling.
3. Refunds and cancellations
- The deposit is non-refundable once a booking is made. This includes when a customer cancels, changes their mind, or rearranges.
- Driver no-show: if your driver doesn't turn up, tell us within 48 hours of the booked time and we'll refund your deposit in full to your card. The driver gets a strike.
- Transport of goods booked for a specific date isn't covered by the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. That's why deposits are non-refundable once booked. This does not affect your other legal rights.
- Payments made to the driver are between you and the driver.
- Driver plan payments are not refunded for part-months. If you cancel, your plan keeps running to the end of the month you've paid for.
- To ask about a refund, email hello@pinkpumpkinlogistics.co.uk with your booking details. Approved refunds go back to the original card, usually within 5 to 10 working days.
4. Driver rules
- Before bidding, every driver gives: full name and address, photo ID, driving licence (front and back), phone, email, public liability insurance and goods-in-transit insurance. A real person checks them. Documents are stored encrypted.
- Lorry and plant jobs need an operator licence where the law requires one.
- Waste jobs: drivers must hold the right licence to carry other people's waste. In England that's an upper tier waste carrier registration with the Environment Agency, or the new waste permit as it replaces registration. In Wales it's Natural Resources Wales, in Scotland SEPA, and in Northern Ireland NIEA. Every waste job needs a signed waste transfer note, and waste must only go to a licensed site. Fly-tipping means a permanent ban and a report to the authorities.
- Strikes: not turning up, turning up late, or cancelling a won job earns a strike. This includes breakdowns. A strike is only removed with full proof, such as a recovery or garage report with the date and time, sent before or on the day of the job. Three strikes and the account is suspended.
- Drivers are responsible for their own tax, insurance, vehicle and legal duties.
5. Privacy policy
Pink Pumpkin Logistics is the "data controller" for the personal information you give us, under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Everyone: name, email, phone (optional for customers), and messages you send us.
- Customers: job details, including collection and delivery postcodes, item description, sizes, photos and dates.
- Drivers: address, ID, driving licence, insurance documents, licences and permits, vehicle details, plan and payment history.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation and the last 4 digits of the card, not the full card number.
- Technical: basic logs (such as IP address and browser) kept by our hosting provider for security.
Why we use it
- To run the marketplace: posting jobs, bidding, bookings and payments (to perform our contract with you).
- To check drivers and keep everyone safe, including meeting waste and transport laws (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
- To email you about your jobs, bids and account (contract).
- To send launch news and offers to people who joined the early access list. You can unsubscribe any time (consent).
Who we share it with
- The other side of a booking: once a booking is paid, the customer and driver see each other's names, phone numbers and the job addresses.
- Service providers who help us run the site: Cloudflare (hosting), Jotform (forms and records), Stripe (payments), postcodes.io (turning postcodes into distances), and our email provider. They only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Police or authorities when the law requires it, for example to report fly-tipping or fraud.
- We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: 6 years (tax and accounting law).
- Driver documents: while the account is active, then up to 12 months.
- Early access sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Email hello@pinkpumpkinlogistics.co.uk. We'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe sets cookies on its payment page to prevent fraud.
Some of the companies we use may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the legal safeguards the UK GDPR requires.
