    Getting your item ready
    • Give honest sizes, weights and photos. If the job is bigger than described, the driver can change the price or refuse it.
    • Fridges and freezers must be defrosted and dry. Washing machines need draining and securing.
    • Take apart anything that won't fit through a door, or say so in the notes.
    • Pack breakables properly. Drivers aren't responsible for poor packing.
    • Someone must be there at collection and delivery.
    • Tell drivers about stairs, lifts, parking and narrow access.
    Waste and rubbish jobs
    • Anyone bidding on waste jobs must hold the right licence to carry other people's waste for money, checked by us before they can bid:
      England: an upper tier waste carrier registration with the Environment Agency, or the new waste transporting environmental permit as it replaces registration.
      Wales: an upper tier waste carrier registration with Natural Resources Wales.
      Scotland: a waste carrier registration with SEPA.
      Northern Ireland: a waste carrier registration with NIEA.
    • Their registration or permit number must be shown on their Pink Pumpkin profile, and they must carry it when collecting.
    • Drivers must also hold goods-in-transit and public liability insurance that covers waste work.
    • Every waste job needs a waste transfer note, signed by the customer and the driver. Keep your copy for 2 years. It proves you followed your legal duty of care.
    • Waste must only go to a licensed tip, recycling centre or permitted waste site. Drivers must keep the disposal receipt and show it if asked.
    • Hazardous waste (paint, oils, batteries, fridges with gas, fluorescent tubes) needs extra paperwork and a driver licensed for it. Say so in your job.
    • Fly-tipping or using an unlicensed site means a permanent ban and a report to the authorities. Customers can be fined too if they hand waste to an unlicensed carrier.
    Payments, deposits and no-shows
    • The deposit is Pink Pumpkin's fee, paid by card when you book. It depends on the winning driver's plan: 10% for Starter, 7% for Pro, 5% for Fleet, minimum £2.
    • You pay the rest straight to the driver. Pink Pumpkin never holds your job money.
    • No refunds. Once a job is booked, the deposit is not refundable if you cancel, change your mind or rearrange.
    • The only exception: if your driver doesn't turn up, you get your deposit back in full.
    • Rebook the same driver and get 5% off the fee.
    Drivers and vetting
    • Every driver gives full name and address, ID, driving licence front and back, phone, email, public liability and goods-in-transit insurance.
    • Lorry and plant jobs need an operator licence.
    • Documents are stored encrypted and checked by a real person.
    • If a customer's price is below our guide, a driver can make one opening offer above it. After that, every bid must be at least £5 lower. The customer decides whether to accept.
    • Taking a deal off the platform earns a strike. Three strikes and the account is suspended.
    • Not turning up, turning up late or cancelling a won job earns a strike.
    • This includes breakdowns. A strike is only removed if you send full proof and evidence, such as a recovery or garage report with the date and time, before or on the day of the job. No proof, no exceptions.
    The legal bit
    • Pink Pumpkin is a marketplace. The job agreement is between the customer and the driver.
    • Goods are covered by the driver's own goods-in-transit insurance, not by Pink Pumpkin.
    • High-value items: check the driver's insurance limit before you book.
    • We can remove any job or account that breaks these rules.
